Surviving the Political Season

In the Catechism of the Catholic Church we are told: "By his reason, man recognizes the voice of God which urges him "to do what is good and avoid what is evil." Everyone is obliged to follow this law, which makes itself heard in conscience and is fulfilled in the love of God and of neighbor. Living a moral life bears witness to the dignity of the person." (CCC 1706)  To this end, as Catholics we must vote, not based on our feelings or opinions, but with a formed conscience -  an activity of our intellect in judging the rightness or wrongness of an idea or action.  Consider the candidates.  What do they stand for?  What issues do they support?  Are these ideas in line with the teaching of the Catholic Church?  Use your vote to recognize the dignity of every person, and promote the common good.
